RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - It is the first public multi-payer system in the country, and on its one-year anniversary, the Health and Human Services agency is touting the successes of the program called NCTracks.

In year one, the system processed 200 million claims for Medicaid and other health programs and paid more than $10 billion to health care providers, according to a news release and video released by the state agency.

"NCTracks is working well, and North Carolina is on its way to having one of the most efficient Medicaid processing systems in the nation," said Joe Cooper, DHHS Chief Information Officer in the statement. "While consolidating several IT systems into one was a complex task, the long-term benefits of NCTracks are paying off.  NCTracks delivers monthly savings to our state and pays our providers more quickly and more often."
