North Carolina Construction Employment Drops 2.1 Percent In July PDF Print E-mail

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - North Carolina's construction industry continued to show sluggishness in July. Employment dropped 2.1 percent to 171,300 jobs compared to the number in July 2011, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.

 
The Triangle Business Journal reported that 31 states saw declines in year-over-year data.
 
North Carolina's overall unemployment rate jumped to 9.6 percent in July, up from 9.4 percent. The rate is among the highest in the country.
