RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Her party is in the minority in the state legislature, but Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue made her mark during the 2011-2012 legislative session by issuing 19 vetoes.

Eleven of the 19 vetoes were overriden by the Republican majority, with help from Democrats. Three of the 11 override votes took place during the short session that ended this week: the 2012-2013 state budget, the energy extraction process known as fracking, and changes to death penalty law via the Racial Justice Act.
