Henderson County is excited to announce that Christopher Todd, Town Manager of Laurel Park, has accepted an offer to become the Director of Business and Community Development, a position that became available when John Mitchell took over the helm as Interim County Manager.

“I am excited to have Chris join our team.  High quality customer service for the citizens of our County remains our number one goal.  I know that Chris will bring experience and leadership to our Business and Community Development departments,” said John Mitchell.

Having been employed as a Planner with the Henderson County Planning Department, Mr. Todd has first-hand experience in Planning and Zoning.  He has continued to polish his skills with the knowledge that he has gained working as the Town Manager in both Sawmills, NC, and the Town of Laurel Park.

Mr. Todd stated “I want to thank Henderson County Manager John Mitchell for this opportunity to be part of the Henderson County team.  I am looking forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Henderson County in this new role as the Business and Community Development Director. It is a privilege to work alongside such a strong group of elected officials and staff to ensure the people of Henderson County receive the highest quality services possible.  My plan is to hit the ground running.  I will work to keep vital county projects moving forward, maintain and improve our business-friendly environment, and ensure the highest quality of customer service for all residents and businesses.”

Mr. Todd’s first day with Henderson County will be November 8, 2021.
