The Forsyth County Board of Elections will host North Carolina’s first Election Academy program starting on July 13, 2021 through August 17, 2021. The Election Academy is designed to give citizens a behind-the-scenes look at how elections are prepared and conducted in Forsyth County. In each class, participants will gain insight into the various components and requirements of the election process, such as voter registration, absentee voting, campaign finance, and more.

The six-week long program is open to Forsyth County residents and will be particularly beneficial to individuals with an interest in elections, running for office, campaign staff, and volunteers. Those interested in participating can expect an interactive classroom setting hosted at the Forsyth County Government Center.

June 25, 2021 is the deadline for applications to be submitted (click here for the Election Academy application). The Election Academy is a complimentary program provided by the Forsyth County Board of Elections, however, attendance is mandatory for all six weeks. Participants will receive a certificate and commemorative pin upon completion of the program.
