RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - A new, safer and more secure facility to supervise and treat youth who've committed serious or violent offenses is opening April 25 in Rocky Mount. The Edgecombe County facility is a key step in the state's strategic plan for public safety and helping young offenders prepare to return to society as productive individuals, according to Gov. Pat McCrory's office.

The Rocky Mount facility will provide "a more therapy-driven approach to treatment and care, while providing a safer and more secure environment for juveniles, staff and the public," according to comments from Public Safety Secretary Frank Perry.

The facility is one of our operated by the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice.
