RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Seven out of 10 North Carolina counties saw their unemployment rates drop or hold steady in February, according to data released by the state Commerce Department.

Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) decreased in 32 and remained unchanged in 38. Thirty counties saw increases.

The highest rate is in Hyde County, at 15.3, with the lowest in Buncombe County, at 4.4 percent.

Compared over the same month last year, rates increased in 57 counties, decreased in 26, and remained unchanged in 17.
