RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Oral arguments will be heard by the U.S. Court of Appeals Wednesday in the case involving Rowan County commissioners' opening meetings with a prayer.

The North Carolina ACLU filed a lawsuit in 2013, charging the commissioners with unconstitutional action that endorses one religion over another.

The commission reportedly opened their meetings with a prayer "in the name of Jesus," according ot the Charlotte Observer.

In 2015, a federal judge ruled the practice unconstitutional and that it advanced Christianity.
