RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - One hundred twenty-five years after its founding, the High Point Fire Department is being honored by the state's Insurance Department and the governor.

A proclamation signed by Gov. Pat McCrory notes that the agency recently received the Insurance Commissioner's Special Achievement Award "for having earned the highest possible inspections rating for fire departments."

The proclamation declared December 20, 2015 as High Point Fire Department 125th Anniversary in the state.
