RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Budgeting can be one of the most complex responsibilities of a county commissioner, but a January workshop aims to help commissioners understand more about local finances.

"Budgeting and Financial Basics for County Commissioners" will be held Thursday, Jan. 14 in Raleigh, according to information posted to the website of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners.

"This informative and engaging session will focus on the primary budgeting and financial responsibilities that elected officials have and what they need to know from their managers and finance officers," says the posting.

Commissioners who attend will receive six credits in the "Workshops and Programs" category of the Local Elected Leaders Academy (LELA) Recognition Program.

Details can be found at ncacc.org.
