RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Ashley Furniture will create 450 new manufacturing jobs in Davie County over the next five years, part of an $8.7 million expansion announced Tuesday.

 The new phase of Ashley's expansion follows the jobs the firm created between 2012 and 2015 as part of a $250 million investment in Advance.

The jobs are expected to run the gamut, from drivers to IT professionals to upholstery experts.

Gov. Pat McCrory was on hand for the jobs announcement.

"We are extremely pleased with the pro-business attitude of the State of North Carolina and the efforts of our entire team. It has been a challenging and fulfilling journey, and we look forward to a very bright future in North Carolina," said Todd Wanek, Ashley's president and CEO.

Ashley received an award from the state's Job Development Investment Grant program (JDIG).
