RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Randolph County and its key city, Asheboro, have joined the chorus of local governments expressing support for an infrasturture bond to be placed on the ballot.
In a statement, Gov. Pat McCrory's office reports that the City of Asheboro, Randolph County, the Randolph County Tourism and Development Authority, the Randolph County Economic Development Corporation and the Asheboro-Randolph Chamber of Commerce have all passed resolutions in support of the package.
“Leaders in Randolph County understand that Connect NC investments will boost our tourism industry while creating jobs and improving the quality of life for North Carolinians,” said the governor in a statement.
So far, official endorsements have come from 28 counties, 27 cities and towns, 9 economic development organizations and 10 planning organizations.
