RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Two dozen small communities have been recognized for their downtown revitalization efforts by the North Carolina Main Street program. They were honored recently by Commerce Secretary John Skvarla and other officials.

Among those recognized for a variety of marketing efforts and specialties were Eden, Burlington, Sanford, Morganton, Wake Forest, Elkin, Tryon, and Salisbury.

The goal was to recognize small towns of less than 7.500 that aren't likely to pursue the regular Main Street program due to resource limitations.

The full list of honorees can be found at http://www.nccommerce.com/Portals/2/Documents/UrbanDevelopment/Awards%20Press%20Release%202015.pdf.
