Local Officials Workshop To Address Liability Issues For Local Government Print

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Elected and appointed officials in city and county government are being encouraged to attend a workshop on legal liability later this week in Montreat. The "I Second That Motion and When Lawyers Attack" session is being taught by UNC School of Government faculty members Norma Houston and Trey Allen.

Topics included in the portion of the workshop dedicated to legal liability issues imclude common legal claims, vicarious liability of local governments, personal liability of officials and employees, government immunity, and public official immunity.

The session will be held Thursday, March 5 at the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat.
