RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The factors that influence the well-being of North Carolina's non-metro areas is the subject of a commentary in the January issue of the N.C. Medical Journal.

The state's Commerce Department's e-newsletter reports that Dr. Pat Mitchell, assistant secretary for rural development, and Olivia Collier, North Carolina's program manager for the Appalachian Regional Commission authored the piece.
