RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The North Carolina Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System Board of Trustees has a new member.

The Honorable Carson Smith Jr., sheriff of Pender County, has received a four-year appointment to the board.

The board administers retirement system laws for local government members of the retirement system.

Gov. Pat McCrory made the appointment at the end of January.
