RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The unemployment rate continues to drop in North Carolina, with all but two counties showing a drop in the local rate in October.

Currituck and Dare rates went up, from 4.2 to 4.4 percent in Currituck and 4.7 to 5.0 in Dare.

Department of Commerce data shows Graham County with the highest rate, at 11.2 percent, and Chathm County with the lowest rate, at 3.8 percent.

Nearly one in four counties -- 23 percent -- now have a rate of 5 percent of lower. Nearly three in four -- 74 percent -- have a rate between 5 and 10 percent. Three counties have a rate of 10 percent of above.
