RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Overland Contracting will open its headquarters in Garner, investing $8.4 million in the Wake County town and creating 89 jobs over the next three years.

Overland Contracting Inc. provides comprehensive engineering, procurement and construction services in energy, water and telecommunications. The parent company, Black & Veatch, is among the Forbes “500 Largest Private Companies in the United States.”  Black & Veatch currently employs nearly 200 workers located between Wake and Mecklenburg Counties.

The Garner facility will be home to the company's leadership team as well as those involved in project construction, including procurement, finance and human resources.

Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual payroll for the new jobs is approximately $7.4 million.

The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $70,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
