RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The District 11A Harnett County Veterans Treatment Court is marking one year of serving veterans by graduating its first class of vets. The court is the first of its kind to be established in North Carolina.

The court pairs troubled  veterans with another veteran in order to try and keep the veteran from having a conviction. The program also offers job training and other services to help integrate veterans back into the civilian society.

"This court is a testament to the unbreakable spirit of our men and women who have served in the Armed Forces," said Gov. Pat McCrory of the anniversary. "They do not give up and they have our full support as they move forward in life upon graduation from the court program. I am proud of the teamwork that has gone into making this court a reality and am thankful for its success."
