RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Two New Hanover County residents have been appointed to the commission that adopts rules and regulations for maintenance and operation of the U.S. North Carolina, which has been restored in Wilmington.

Capt. Wilbur Jones has 28 years of active and ready-reserve experience in the US Navy.  He is also an author and military historian.  He has been appointed chairman of the U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship Commission.

The Honorable Sandra Ray is a district court judge for the 5th Judicial District, serving New Hanover and Pender counties.

Members work with the Department of Cultural Resources to manage and maintain exhibits, activities and records pertaining to marine and naval history of North Carolina and the United States.

Each member serves a four-year term.
