RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The Department of Public Safety announced Friday that a Central Prison inmate appears to have committed suicide.

 
Guanghui Lei was found hanging in his cell at Central Prison just before 2 p.m. Thursday.  According to DPS, Lei was taken to the emergency room at Central Prison’s Medical Center. Doctors were unable to revive him.  
 
Lei, who was 46 years old, is inmate #1387373,
 
Lei was serving three consecutive life sentences for the April 2013 shooting deaths of his wife and his pregnant sister in Greensboro.  
 
He was admitted to prison in September 2013.
