LAKE LURE, (AP) — It was 25 years ago that moviegoers first watched Johnny lift Baby over his head in "Dirty Dancing," and a two-day event in western North Carolina is celebrating the film's milestone.

The third annual Dirty Dancing Festival is scheduled to begin Friday at Lake Lure, the backdrop for the film which starred Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze. It's being held at the Old Riverside Pavilion.

Included in the festivities is a Friday night lakeside screening. There will also be a concert by 1960s soul and beach music bands, as well as dance lessons, arts and crafts and a beer and wine garden.

Swayze would have turned 60 years old on Saturday. He died in 2009 after battling pancreatic cancer.
