RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Holly Springs is the latest Wake County municipality to move ahead with connecting its officials to the county's reverse 9-1-1 system. The connection will allow the town to send messages to cell phones and landline phones.

The Cary News reports that Cary, Raleigh and Garner already are hooked in, while Apex uses a different system to achieve the same goal.

Wake County Emergency Management Director Josh Creighton told the newspaper that some cities and towns in Wake County may not realize the county offers the system.
