RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Gov. Pat McCrory thanked members of North Carolina's congressional delegation for helping make the future U.S. 70 a reality in a key area of eastern North Carolina.

At a ceremony Wednesday, the governor presided over erection of a sign near Goldsboro about the future 70 that was funded in December's federal Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

"Enhancing the U.S. 70 corridor continues our administration's focus on preparing North Carolina for the future, connecting North Carolina and supporting our military, agriculture and overall economy," the governor said.
The governor called for Congress to pass a long term transportation funding bill in March 2015 when he testified before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on behalf of the state and as a member of the National Governors Association Executive Committee.
