RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Premium data for 2016 shows that most Medicare enrollees will not see an increase in their Part B premiums. Current cost is $104.90 per month, according to Federal News Radio.

The Part B plan for Medicare is distinct from Part A and must be bought separately. Part A covers hospitalization and other primary services. Part B covers more areas.

Congress has protected enrollees from an increase through a 'hold harmless' provision in law.

Among those not protected and who therefore will see a Part B premium increase are first-time enrollees in 2016 and those with high incomes.
