RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz has introduced a resolution to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

FederalNewsRadio.com reports Chaffetz's statement said: “This action will demonstrate to the American people that the IRS is under repair, and signal that Executive Branch officials who violate the public trust will be held accountable.”

Discontent with the IRS among Republicans has risen over the past several years following disclosures that the agency targeted conservative nonprofit groups that were seeking tax exempt status.
