RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Following is President Obama's public schedule for Friday, August 28, 2015, as released by the White House.

In the morning, the President will travel to New Orleans, Louisiana. The President’s departure from the South Lawn is open press, and the arrival at Louis Armstrong International Airport is open to pre-credentialed media.

While in New Orleans, the President will meet with residents and youth who have rebuilt their lives over the past 10 years since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. This will be covered by the travel pool.

In the afternoon, the President will participate in a resilience roundtable on Hurricane Katrina including local officials and led by FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate to highlight advancements in national preparedness, showcase Gulf Coast resiliency, mark the achievements of the New Orleans community over the past 10 years and discuss opportunities to build future resilience. There will be a travel pool spray at the bottom of the roundtable at the Andrew P. Sanchez Community Center.

Afterward, the President will deliver remarks on the region’s rebirth and what’s possible when citizens, city and corporate leaders all work together to lift up their communities and build back in ways that make them more innovative and positioned for economic growth. The President’s remarks at the Andrew P. Sanchez Community Center are open to pre-credentialed media.

In the afternoon, the President will depart Louisiana en route Washington, DC. The departure from Louis Armstrong International Airport is open to pre-credentialed media, and the arrival on the South Lawn is open press.
