RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Federal officials confirmed Thursday that sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers and passwords, were stolen from federal computers.

The breach impacted the Office of Personnel Management and those people who are current, former, and prospective employees. Prospective contractors were also affected.

According to agency Director Katherine Archuleta, "OPM has determined that the types of information in these records include identification details such as Social Security Numbers; residency and educational history; employment history; information about immediate family and other personal and business acquaintances; health, criminal and financial history; and other details."
