RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The U.S. Supreme Court has told the North Carolina Supreme Court to take another look at the case of 36-year-old Wilmington resident Torrey Dale Grady. Grady's attorneys had argued that the sentence that subjects him to lifetime monitoring via GPS ankle bracelet amounts to a violation of the 4th amendment prohibition on unreasonable search and seizure.

Grady was sentenced to the monitoring after pleading guilty to a count of taking indecent liberties with a child. He also had a previous offense as a teen.

His attorneys argued the 24/7 monitoring placed an undue burden on him. Attorneys for the State of North Carolina said his arguments were overblown.
