RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - North Carolina 4th District Congressman David Price, co-chair of the bipartisan House Democracy Partnership, released the following statement on the violence in Tunisia. The Partnership provides parliamentary assistance and training for lawmakers in developing democracies, including Tunisia. The statement was released on March 18.

"I am disturbed and saddened by the violence in Tunisia today. This act of terrorism was clearly intended to threaten the peace and stability that have made Tunisia the greatest success story of the Arab Spring to date. I was privileged to witness firsthand the successful presidential elections last year as an international election observer, and I know that the Tunisian people are rightly proud of the robust young democracy they have created. The United States and the international community must stand by the Tunisians as they work to overcome this senseless violence and continue to build on the promise of the Arab Spring."
