RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - He is known as a transportation expert, and now Gov. Pat McCrory will represent the National Governors Association before a U.S. House committee. The governor is expected to testify Tuesday before the Committee on Infrastructure and Transportation about the critical role transportation plays in economic growth of the states.

The governor will sit before at least two familiar faces: North Carolina Congressman David Rouzer of the 7th District and North Carolina Congressman Mark Meadows of the 11th District.

McCrory will be joined at the table by Salt Lake City, Utah Mayor Ralph Becker and Wyoming Transportation Director John Cox.

McCrory's administration has reformed transportation funding in North Carolina, turning it into a needs-based, data-driven exercise. The system had been tainted by political favoritism for years. The governor has also proposed a 25-year transportation plan.
