Report: Federal Agencies Not Measuring Up On Implementing FOIA Requests Print

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Federal agencies are violating the fundamental ideal of transparency in government according to a new report from the Center for Effective Government. "Making the Grade: Access to Information Scorecard 2015" conclues that "sustained performance remains elusive" despite efforts to implore agencies to respond quickly to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from the public.

Fifteen agenicies were included in the review since they account for 9 out of 10 FOIA requests, according to Federalnewsradio.com.

The Department of Agriculture received a "B" overall as one of the top peformers. The agency scored 94 percent on processing requests .

The State Department received an "F" overall as one of the lowet performers. The ageny scored just 23 percent on processing requests.
