RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Bad press for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the IRS appear to have helped put the two federal agencies at or near the bottom of the public's list for performance of federal agencies, according to a recent Gallup poll.

Just 29 percent of those polled rated the VA as Excellent, while 29 percent rated it Fair and 35 percent rated it Poor.

The IRS faired slightly better, with 41 percent rating it Excellent, 29 percent rating it Fair, and 27 percent rating it Poor.

The Postal Service topped the ranking. Seven out of 10 (72 percent) gave the Postal Service an Excellent rating. The FBI was second, with 58 percent saying the law enforcement agency is Excellent.
