The website in question is healthcare.gov.

 

A Health and Human Services spokesman said the server didn't contain personal information. Getting data didn't seem to be the purpose of the malware, officials said. According to CNN, the virus was intended to take over the server and use it as a "bot" to send out mass emails.

 

Federal law enforcement is looking into the breach.
