State Board of Education To Hear Presentation on Proposed Changes To Math Standards PDF Print E-mail

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - High school math standards will be under the microscope Wednesday when Board of Education members hear a presentation about proposed changes.

Following the presentation, Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson will hold a media briefing on the issue.

The meeting is scheduled for 1:50 p.m. in the Education Building in downtown Raleigh. Atkinson's briefing will take place at approximatey 2:30.

State Superintendent Atkinson, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Tiffany Perkins and Mathematics Section Chief Dr. Jennifer Curtis will be available to answer questions during the briefing. Also participating will be NC PTA President Kelly Langston, UNC-Greensboro Professor Dr. P. Holt Wilson, and Wake County Teacher Suzanne Gibbons.
