RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - President Obama celebrated science and the opportunities it affords young people at a White House Science Fair this week. He met with winners of competitions around the country in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

The fair is part of the administration's focus on expanding high-quality science education.

The president announced Department of Education guidance to states on ways to use existsing federal funds to advance Pre-K to 12 STEM and CS learning.
