RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The chairman of the state Board of Community Colleges is calling voter passage of a $2 billion infrastructure bond package "an incredible great day for our colleges and for North Carolina."

“I appreciate all of our folks who worked to help get the vote out and to make sure those voters were informed," said Scott Shook. "We will be benefitting from the impact of this vote for years to come.”

The bond package passed by a 2 to 1 margin on March 15.

Roughly $350 million of the $2 billion is designated for the state's 58 community colleges.
