High School Students Invited To Apply For Youth Legislative Assembly Print

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - High schoolers looking for a taste of real-world policymaking will have their chance during the 46th Annual Youth Legislative Assembly (YLA).
 
The Department of Administration is now accepting applications for the conference to be held April 1-3 in Raleigh. Applications will be accepted through February 19, 2016, on a first come-first serve basis.

More than 200 students from 49 counties participated last year.
 
At the conference, participants will study how laws are introduced and enacted; draft, debate and vote on mock bills; and learn about the research that goes into policymaking.

 To be eligible, students must be in good standing at their  public, private, charter or home school.
