Four Community Colleges Gain New Board Members Print

RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - New members will take seat on the trustee boards of four North Carolina community colleges.

They are:

*** James Sprunt Community College Board of Trustees

John T. Phillips Jr. (Duplin County) - Phillips is the Director of Purchasing and Warehouse Logotics for Smithfield Foods, with the responsibility for sourcing and delivering vaccines, medications and supplies to farming operations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia over the last 19 years. He is a Duplin County native and attended James Sprunt Community College.

 
*** Richmond Community College Board of Trustees

Jeff VunCannon (Richmond County) - VunCannon is the manager and treasurer of EE VunCannon, Inc. The company is a farm and garden supply shop and Carhartt dealer. VunCannon has been with the company since graduating from N.C. State University with a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Pest Management in May 1982. VunCannon is also active in the community as a Sunday School teacher and Chairman of the Board of Deacons.


 *** Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees

Brenden Jones (Columbus County) - Jones is the owner of Ready Paint and Body LLC and Ready Motors Inc. in Tabor City. Additionally, Jones has been active within the community through such efforts as serving on the county board of elections, and as a deacon in his church.

 
*** Randolph Community College Board of Trustees

Bonnie Renfro (Randolph County) - Renfro has been the President of the Randolph County Economic Development Corporation since 1999. She has earned degrees from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma. Renfro is active with several local boards including Asheboro Randolph Chamber of Commerce, Randolph County Partnership for Children, and Piedmont Triad Partnership. She will be filling an unexpired term through June 30, 2018.
