RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson says she hopes the state's 60 most successful schools at graduating their students will share their best practices and serve as models for the state. She made her statement Tuesday at an event honoring the performance of 60 schools and 11 districts.

The Department of Public Instruction has released a chart containing data on the schools, including number of studetns in the cohort and the 4-year cohort graduation rate.

Newton-Conover City Schools tops the list with 206 students and a 97.1 percent 4-year rate.

Next in line are Hyde, Dare, Avery and Union county schools, with rates, respectively of 94.7, 93.8, and 93.2 percent. Dare and Avery tied at 93.8 percent.
