RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Person County Schools officials are hoping to receive test results Friday that will give them an indication of the cause of a massive outbreak of illness that left roughly 14 percent of students out of class Thursday.

The state's public health officials are testing samples from some of the sick to determine the cause of the problem, which also affected teachers.

Symptoms included fever and vomiting.

School officials went to work with a bleach solution to clean the system's schools, all of which were impacted. They're also telling students and teachers to wash their hands frequently and to avoid sharing food and drinks.
