RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Virtual charter schools are the wave of the future in education, and now the state board that advises on policy for charters is set to discuss a proposed attendance policy for the online schools.

The agenda for next week's Charter Schools Advisory board meeting includes the item on its agenda. The group will make a recommendation to the state Board of Education.

The group is also set to discuss the "Open Report Update," which details charters that are set to open, according to the Office of Charter Schools.

The board will meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. in downtown Raleigh.
