RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - High school students in Macon and New Hanover counties will have the chance to be part of a cutting-edge approach to physical education when North Carolina's Virtual Public School pilots PE in the fall.

Instructors will demonstrate via video and then students will follow suit, creating video portfolios to show their work and master the activities.

Students will have the option to either enroll in a nine-week course for a half credit, or enroll in the PE and health course for one full credit.

Education officials say the program could expand statewide next year.
