RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Certain military veterans will qualify for in-state tuition to North Carolina universities, thanks to a bill scheduled to be signed into law on Wednesday.

Gov. Pat McCrory will hold a public signing ceremony for Senate Bill 478 at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh.

The bill waives the 12-month residency requirement for in-state tuition for those veterans who qualify for admission to an institution of higher learning. The veteran must enroll within three years after discharge or release from the Armed Forces.

The full bill can be accessed at http://ncleg.net/Sessions/2015/Bills/Senate/HTML/S478v4.html

Gov. McCrory has focused on veterans affairs since he took office. His goal is to keep skilled veterans in North Carolina where they can fill in-demand positions.
