RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The state's former Medicaid director is on his way to taking the top spot at UNC-Pembroke, but before he gets there he will be honored by the state's Commission of Indian Affairs.

Dr. Robin Cummings is a member of the Lumbee Indian tribe and a retired cardiologist. He will speak to the commission on June 5.

“The Commission of Indian Affairs would like to honor Dr. Cummings for his hard work and dedication during his tenure on the Commission and in the area of Indian health. We are looking forward to the great work he will do as the next Chancellor of UNC Pembroke,” said Gregory Richardson, Executive Director of the NC Commission of Indian Affairs in a news release.
