RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The State Board of Education will tour Eastern Elementary School in Greenville as part of this week's board meeting at East Carolina University.

The tour will take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6.

The tour is part of a packed agenda for the board.



TUESDAY, MAY 5: Planning and Work Session Continued
8:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Board presentations will focus on three major topics: assessment system reform, teacher and leader quality, and support systems for student success.

 

WEDNESDAY, MAY 6: May Board Meeting
9 – 10:20 a.m.
Board members will tour E.B. Aycock STEM Middle School

 
10:45 – 11 a.m. (Board members are back at The Murphy Center at Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium)
Following the Call to Order and the Pledge of Allegiance, Board members will hear from Pitt County Schools’ Superintendent Ethan Lenker. Members will then approve their April meeting minutes before taking up their Committees’ discussion and action items.

Discussion items: North Carolina Charter Schools Advisory Board Charter Recommendations, Request for Charter Amendment for Torchlight Academy Charter School and Charter Amendment to Change the County Location for Uwharrie Charter School

•  Globally Competitive Students Committee
