RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - A science and techology (STEM) themed elementary school in Wake County, and an arts and science-themed elementary school, were honored recently by Magnet Schools of America. The group held its convention in Raleigh, with more than 1,000 participants from across the country in attendance.

Wendell Elementary School, the arts and sciences school, waked away the winner of the award for best elementary magnet school in the United States.

Brentwood Elementary School, the STEM-focused campus, was honored as runner-up for best magnet school in the U.S.
