RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - Gov. Pat McCrory is having none of the criticisims President Obama made on Wednesday in Charlotte, saying the president "mischaracterized" the state's commitment to education.

While speaking to supporters and responding to a question, the president criticized Republicans for not paying teachers enough.

McCrory shot back.

"I was disappointed to learn that the President used a portion of his quick visit today to unfairly and incorrectly malign our education system in the great state of North Carolina, then hop back on Air Force One and return to Washington," the governor said in a statement.

"The facts are clear. I signed one of the largest teacher raises in state history and more students are graduating high school now than during any time the three Democrat governors who preceded me were in office.

McCrory also invited Mr. Obama back to North Carolina "so he can see our successes firsthand."
