RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - What to help North Carolina teachers? Lt. Gov. Dan Forest is reminding taxpayers they have a new vehicle for doing just that. In his monthly online newsletter, Forest is touting the new Education Endowment he shepherded to completion in 2014.

"If you are expecting a refund on your 2014 North Carolina taxes, you will have the opportunity to help reward our state’s best teachers through your contribution to the North Carolina Education Endowment," says the posting.

To donate, fill in the amount you’d like to contribute on your tax paperwork or online when prompted by your tax software.

"In 2013, 3,127,317 North Carolinians received a state refund. Imagine how much money we could raise for teacher pay raises if every taxpayer gives just a few dollars," Forest writes in his posting.
