RALEIGH, (SGRToday.com) - The state's new grading system for public schools themselves is the subject of the lead story in the February issue of the State Board of Education newsletter.

The story notes that 65.4 percent of elementary and middle schools earned a "C" or better. An accompanying chart shows the details for each grade level.

The newsletter also carries a story about the board's approval of two virtual public charter schools.

The newsletter can be found at ncpublicschools.org. Click on the tab for the State Board of Education.
